Dungeon Lords is an, third-person RPG steeped in fantasy and high adventure. Developed by Heuristic Park and published by THQ Nordic.

Gameplay

Set in a time when humanity is locked in a desperate struggle against the forces of darkness, players step into the shoes of the prophesized Great Champion in Dungeon Lords. With the great wizard Galdrin and his ally Lord Davenmore both embattled, it falls upon the player to protect the kingdom from the impending doom led by the nefarious Lord Barrowgrim.

Dungeon Lords’ distinctive combat system sets it apart from the typical click-and-kill mechanics of many RPGs. With attacks controlled directly by the player, it introduces a sense of depth and immersion. Akin to the popular Mount & Blade series, the direction of attacks can be determined with mouse movements. As you level up your weapon skills, new combos and abilities like dual-wielding become available, each weapon offering unique combos and combat mechanics.

Experience points gained from quest completion and enemy defeat can be invested into a variety of skills and abilities, offering a high level of character customization. A remarkable feature of Dungeon Lords is the absence of a rigid class system. You might start as a warrior, but the game allows you to branch out into diverse professions such as a magician or thief, thereby providing enormous flexibility in character development.

A diverse array of hostile NPCs awaits you in the world of Dungeon Lords. From the classic wolves to fantasy creatures like harpies, giant spiders, and demons, you’ll face a myriad of challenges. The game also features strategic boss fights, which reward victory with substantial experience and valuable loot.

Though reminiscent of genre classics like Gothic and The Elder Scrolls, Dungeon Lords’ storyline weaves its own unique narrative. A multitude of side quests complements the main storyline, offering additional experience, rewards, and a deeper understanding of the game’s lore.
