Publisher Apogee Entertainment and developer Skydevilpalm have announced the upcoming release of the sandbox adventure and dungeon-crafting game Quest Master on Steam Early Access later this month. The initial Early Access version of Quest Master is set to become available on May 29, 2024, with a full release expected approximately six months later. Interested players can already access a demo of the game.
In Quest Master, players will engage in creating pixel art top-down dungeons that evoke the atmosphere of classic top-down adventures from the 1990s. Players will guide the hero Lanze, the heroine Javelynn, and the fierce sidekick Shiv through these dungeons. What sets Quest Master apart is its feature that allows players to share their multi-tiered creations, complete with elements such as levers, timed switches, and moving platforms, online for others to explore. The game also offers filtering and rating options for these user-created dungeons. Moreover, up to three players can team up to take on the challenges within the dungeons.
