Turn-based strategy RPG The Dragoness: Command of the Flame is set to debut across multiple platforms this summer. Publisher PQube announced the game will hit PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games & GOG on August 10th, 2023, and Nintendo Switch fans will have their chance to play on September 7th.
‘The Dragoness: Command of the Flame’ promises a unique gaming experience by blending elements of the classic game Heroes of Might & Magic-inspired strategy RPG with a roguelite twist. The game introduces an intriguing combination of exploration, base-building, and turn-based strategic combat.
Set in the battle-ravaged realm of the Drairthir Peninsula, the game’s narrative revolves around the Dragoness, a regal figure seeking aid from an experienced elvish Commander following a calamitous civil war. The player, as the Commander, must build an army, master the six schools of arcane magic, and engage in strategic combat to triumph over the nefarious Shai-Va forces.
The game’s campaign, which spans an impressive 30 hours, features four unique regions for players to explore. Additionally, players can recruit from 40 unique units, level up their commander by completing quests and exploring the world, and restore the capital of Niwenborh with various buildings and upgrades to unlock new spells and units.
One of the standout features of ‘The Dragoness: Command of the Flame’ is its roguelite mechanics. Players can replay completed levels and undertake challenges to earn special runes and additional resources, adding an extra layer of strategy and replayability.
In addition to the captivating gameplay, ‘The Dragoness: Command of the Flame’ also promises an engaging narrative with a diverse cast of characters. From the magical Commander and the authoritative Dragoness to the ambitious advisor Natiq and the mysterious Wizard, the game offers a rich narrative that goes hand in hand with its strategic gameplay.
‘The Dragoness: Command of the Flame’ is also currently available on Steam, providing PC gamers an opportunity to experience the strategy RPG. With its impending release on consoles and the Epic Games & GOG platforms, a whole new audience will soon be able to delve into the war-torn world of the Drairthir Peninsula.
